That is exactly right for setting toe and camber, and exactly wrong the moment the job turns into a rotor, a bearing, or a tire. Without a rolling jack the car comes off the rack and the bay stops earning. The Daytona RAJ8 is built for Daytona 12,000 and 14,000 lb alignment lifts, including the LFPA12 and LFPA14 . It rolls along the runways, spans the gap, and lifts 8,000 lbs clear of the deck so an axle comes free while the rack stays put. The lifting arms span 35.4" to 63.0" and, per Daytona’s drawing, the base adjusts 40.6" to 45.3" ; confirm both against your lift’s jack rails before ordering. It is air powered , so there is no electrical hookup , and a mechanical safety lock engages at the 19.75" working height . Collapsed it sits at 8" , low enough to roll under a vehicle already on the runways. Adjustable rubber contact pads protect the underbody and add 2-3/4" of reach when a frame rail sits high.
