What to check before you order

• Ceiling height — a clear-floor lift needs room for the overhead beam, a baseplate lift does not
• Concrete thickness and cure: four inches of 3,000 psi concrete is the usual minimum
• Symmetric or asymmetric columns — asymmetric rotates the car back so the doors clear the posts
• Arm reach at full drop, if you intend to lift both a low sports car and a long-wheelbase truck
